The Knitting Pattern

The Dream Catcher Cowl knitting pattern is from my range of Skill-building knitwear designs. I design the range for knitters looking for a stress-free way to build on their current knitting skills and write the patterns in my 'Tutorial Style'. They have lots of detail – you really can’t get lost!

The knitting pattern guides you through knitting your first pretty lace garment without any stress. You will need to know how to Knit well, but really the cowl is just a long tube, knitted round and round on circular needles. Everything else, from using circular needles, to cast-on and joining in the round, to washing and blocking after casting off is covered in the knitting pattern, both in words and through links to videos. The pattern is written with separate sections for each step of the knitting process, so you'll know exactly where you are at all times. There are tick-lists for tracking every row and links to YouTube videos when needed.

The lace looks beautiful and is a very easy lace to knit, even though it appears to be quite complicated. It was the first lace that I learned to knit - long ago! There is no shaping to worry about and you will use only 'Knit’; ‘Knit 2 together’; ‘Slip, slip, knit’ and ‘yarn-overs’ - all explained or shown to you in the written pattern. There's a very clear 'Abbreviations' section to guide you through the stitches mentioned above.

The PDF pattern is downloadable once on payment, but you can take as long as you Like to download it.  If you prefer a Word document version, please let me know after purchase.

The Cowl

The Dream catcher Cowl is a lightweight cowl, perfect for those cooler spring or Autumn days. Designed to be worn loosely around the neck as an accessory to complete an outfit, it can also be pulled up above the collar of a coat on chillier days, or worn folded double for more warmth. You will need between 50 to 100 grams, (200 to 400 metres), of fingering/4 Ply yarn - depending on how long you want the cowl to be. Any fingering/4 ply yarn will work well for this cowl, but I love how the cowl knits up in my Merino Tencel range - It is soft, drapey and has a beautiful sheen.

I would love to see how your cowl works out and to know that you are pleased with it. The best way to do this is by Facebook or Instagram.
Also, as a new small business, getting seen and heard about is so important.  If you could help out by sharing  photos of your cowl that would be amazing!

Please find Mille Rêves en Laine on Facebook or on Instagram to share photos with me, for example, your progress as you knit and/or your finished object. A review of the pattern would always be most welcome too. Remember to use @millerevesenlaine and/or #dreamcarchercowl in the comments when you post.

If you don't use Either Facebook or Instagram, I'd love it if you emailed me your photos at millerevesenlaine@gmail.com
I will then share your photographs on my own social media platforms, unless you ask me not to do so.
